This past Christmas season I spent touring around the big island of Hawaii. The stormy weather on the East coast the week before Christmas caused huge grief for the airlines but I did make it, and was able to land late on the evening of the 21st. As I stepped out of the plane in Kona the warm island air hit me and it was wonderful. Roger and I spent the next 10 days biking, snorkelling, hiking, kayaking, drinking red wine and relaxing with our toes pushed into the warm sand. These little gecko's were everywhere and their green, violet and sapphire colorings were amazing.
We ventured off and drove around the entire island one day, stopping at various spots for great photo opportunities. Waterfalls, volcanoes and rain forests were the highlights.
We spent ten fantastic days with great friends and had a wonderful Christmas holiday.
